If you’re a driving instructor or thinking of becoming one, you might have heard of YooDrive mentors. But what exactly are they and what do they do?
After successfully completing your first two ADI tests, you can apply for a trainee licence, also known as a pink badge. This licence allows you to gain valuable teaching experience in preparation for your final test, Part 3. In order to qualify for a trainee licence, you must have a total of 40 hours of training, 10 of which must be in the car with a fully qualified ADI.
This is where YooDrive mentors come in, as they can provide the required 10 hours of in-car training, and you can book and pay for these hours by the hour. To build up the remaining 30 hours of training, you can use YooDrive’s knowledge bank, a resource centre with materials to guide you through Part 1, 2 and 3 of the ADI tests. This will help you to fully prepare for the final test and increase your chances of success.
At YooDrive, our mentors are fully qualified and experienced Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs). They have passed all three tests required to become an instructor and have a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. They are experts in the field and have helped many instructors pass their own tests and become fully qualified ADIs.
As a driving instructor, passing your tests can be a challenging and stressful process. With a YooDrive mentor, you’ll have access to an experienced and knowledgeable instructor who can provide guidance and support throughout the process. They can help you prepare for your tests, provide feedback on your teaching techniques and help you build confidence.
Once you’ve passed your tests and become a fully qualified ADI, you’ll have the opportunity to become a mentor yourself. YooDrive mentors are able to charge £75-150 an hour for an in-car mentoring session, providing instructors with a secondary income and the opportunity to cut down their hours and not miss out on income.
I am currently an ADI, can I become a YooDrive mentor?
Yes, you can apply to become a YooDrive mentor. Being a YooDrive mentor is a great way to share your knowledge and experience with others, and help new instructors succeed in the field. It’s also an excellent way to earn extra income and gain more experience as an ADI. If you’re looking to become an instructor, or are already one and want to take your career to the next level, becoming a YooDrive mentor is definitely worth considering.
At YooDrive, we take great care in selecting the most experienced and highly-skilled Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) to become mentors. Our goal is to provide our students with the best possible guidance and support during their journey to becoming a fully qualified ADI. In order to ensure that our mentors are well-suited for the role, we consider a variety of factors when making our selection.
One of the most important factors we take into account is the feedback and reviews from previous customers. We believe that a driving instructor’s ability to provide a positive and effective learning experience is crucial, and by examining the reviews from previous customers, we can get a sense of an instructor’s teaching style and effectiveness.
Another important factor we consider is the instructor’s current level of experience. Our mentors are required to have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of driving instruction. We look for instructors who have been teaching for a number of years, have a high pass rate, and have a good reputation in their community.
Additionally, we also consider the instructor’s availability and willingness to help others. A good mentor should be able to make themselves available to their students, and be willing to invest time and energy into helping them succeed.
Overall, when selecting ADIs to become mentors at YooDrive, we look for individuals who have a proven track record of providing effective instruction, have a wealth of experience, and are dedicated to helping others succeed. By carefully selecting our mentors, we can ensure that our students have access to the best possible guidance and support throughout their journey to becoming a fully qualified ADI.
